John and Marlene Heslip Scholarship Program

Introduction
The NCMA (National Concrete Masonry Association) Education and Research Foundation sponsors the John and Marlene Heslip Scholarship to support full-time students pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees in architecture at qualifying colleges and universities in the United States and Canada. The award aims to encourage study in the architectural field while promoting creative design, application, or use of manufactured concrete masonry and hardscape products in the built environment.
Eligibility
Applicants must meet all of the following:
- Be a full-time student enrolled in a college or university with an accredited architecture program in the United States or Canada.
- Have completed at least the sophomore year of study.
- Hold and maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale prior to and throughout the scholarship period.
This scholarship is awarded without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, gender, disability, or national origin.
Award Information
Typically, one recipient will receive a $5,000 scholarship for each academic year. Awards are one-time and nonrenewable. Recipients are selected based on the recommendation of the Foundation Program Review Committee and require approval by the Foundation Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees’ decision is final.
Application Requirements and Deadlines
Applicants are responsible for submitting a complete application package. Official transcripts must include the student’s name, the institution’s name, the grades and credit hours for each course, and the term in which each course was taken. Completed applications must be received by June 1 of each calendar year to be considered. (Also note any deadline shown on the previous web page.) Applicants selected for an award will be notified by September 15 of each calendar year regarding scholarship selection for the upcoming academic year.
