Purpose
The Alltricity Scholarship Foundation’s mission is to provide financial awards to qualified students pursuing studies related to the electric energy sector. Eligible fields include engineering, business, information systems, plant/line/distribution technology, line worker/lineman training, renewable energy programs, or other curricula directly tied to the electric utility industry.
Award Types
The Foundation distributes scholarships in two ways:
- Alltricity Scholarship Foundation Scholarships — Individual awards typically range from $1,500 to $3,000 or more. See eligibility requirements below.
- Alltricity Scholarship Foundation Named Scholarships — Scholarships funded in the name of an individual or corporate donor and administered by the Foundation.
Who May Apply
Applicants must be one of the following:
- A current high school senior;
- A high school graduate; or
- A college/university undergraduate (freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior).
In addition to the academic status above, applicants must meet at least one of the two program requirements:
1) Be enrolled in, or plan to enroll in, a certificate program that prepares students for an electric industry position (for example, lineman training or renewable energy certificate). You must supply details about the specific program you attend or intend to attend and note the institution’s accreditation status.
2) Be pursuing, or plan to pursue, an undergraduate degree with the clear intent to build a career in the electric energy industry.
Mandatory Requirements
- Applicants must be permanent residents of the United States.
- The online application must be completed in full.
Important Notice
Do not apply if you receive more than 75% tuition reimbursement. Applicants receiving over 75% tuition reimbursement are not eligible to receive an Alltricity Scholarship Foundation Scholarship.
Post-Award Reporting
If you are selected for a scholarship, you may be asked during subsequent years of your college education to provide updates to Alltricity Network. These updates can include expected graduation date, anticipated degree, internships, and post-graduation employment details.
Selection Process
A Selection Committee appointed by the Alltricity Scholarship Foundation reviews all applications and chooses recipients. Applications are evaluated based on:
- Career goals and aspirations within the electric energy industry
- Demonstrated motivation and drive to succeed
- Service to school and community
- Academic record and performance
