Cerebral Palsy Scholarship

Intro
ABC Law Centers: Birth Injury Lawyers awards one annual scholarship of $1,000 to a student who has cerebral palsy. This scholarship aims to raise awareness of cerebral palsy (CP) and to recognize the accomplishments of individuals living with CP. A panel of judges will select a single recipient from among applicants who satisfy the eligibility requirements and submit all required materials by the deadline.

- Submission window for 2026: June 30th through July 31st.
- Submissions open June 30th and must be received by July 31st.

Eligibility
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be currently enrolled at an institution of higher education in the United States.
- Have cerebral palsy.
- Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
This scholarship is not available to present or future clients of ABC Law Centers: Birth Injury Lawyers (owned by Reiter & Walsh, P.C.).
Application requirements (must be submitted by July 31st)
Applicants must provide all of the following:
1. A completed application form (via the Google Submission Form).
2. An academic transcript.
3. A response to the prompt: “How has cerebral palsy shaped your academic interests and passions?”
Response options (choose one)
- Essay: Approximately 750–1,000 words. Use 12 pt Times New Roman font, double-spaced. Include your last name, page numbers, and the scholarship name in the header. Submit as a PDF.
- Creative project: Acceptable formats include but are not limited to photo projects, video or other multimedia presentations (videos must not exceed five minutes), creative writing, or a performance piece.
How to submit
Use the Google Submission Form during the open period (June 30th–July 31st, 2026). Please read and follow all instructions carefully to ensure your entry is complete and valid.
Selection and award
A judging panel will choose one recipient. The $1,000 award will be issued as a check made payable to the school or program where the recipient is enrolled. ABC Law Centers will publish a short feature on the winner that includes a brief biography, their university name, and a photo. Past winning entries are available to view below.
