Field Workers Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by California Table Grape Commission
Californians have been cultivating grapes for more than two centuries. Today, 99 percent of U.S. table grapes are produced in California's warm, dry climate that is ideal for grape growing. With more than 80 grape varieties grown, California grapes come in three colors—green, red, and black—and are in season from May through January.
There are two categories of scholarships for field workers and their children: the first, called the Bridge Scholarship, is a $14,500 scholarship for students who will attend two years at a community college and transfer to a four-year California university. The second is a $25,000 scholarship for students who will attend a four-year California university.
To be eligible, the applicant or their parent or legal guardian must have been employed as a field worker in a California table grape harvest during the 2026 season or plan to be so employed during the 2027 harvest.
