Eligibility

Applicants must be graduating high school seniors who will enroll as college freshmen in a science or engineering program. A permanent address within one of the Gulf Coast Section’s 29 counties is required, and applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. If an applicant does not meet the geographic or citizenship requirements for this section, other SPE scholarships may be available at the international level. Complete and accurate eligibility confirmation is required as part of the application.

Application Process and Required Materials

The online application consists of five sections and all sections must be fully completed for an application to be considered. Sections include eligibility confirmation, basic information, detailed questions (academic achievement, extracurricular and leadership activities, interest in the energy industry), an essay, and letters of recommendation. Required supporting documents must be uploaded in MS Office formats, JPEG, or PDF and must be less than 10 MB each. Letters of recommendation (minimum two, maximum three) must be submitted directly through the Kaleidoscope portal.

Application Process: Complete all five application sections and upload required documents before the deadline; letters are submitted via Kaleidoscope.
