Les Best Scholarship

Intro
The Les Best Scholarship Program offers financial support to OCSEA members and their family members pursuing postsecondary education. Each academic year, the program distributes a total of $12,000 in awards. Applications are accepted annually from January 1 through April 30.
How to apply
All application materials must be received by April 30. Submit the items below as part of your packet:
- A fully completed and signed Les Best Scholarship application.
- An official acceptance letter showing admission to a union apprenticeship, a vocational/trade school, or an accredited college or university for undergraduate study.
- A 500–1,000 word essay (the essay topic changes each year).
- An official transcript — either high school or college — as appropriate. (This transcript is required only for applicants to the Dependent College/Vocational scholarship.)
- SAT or ACT scores (required only from graduating high school seniors; not required for applicants entering vocational, trade, or technical programs).
- One completed and signed academic or professional reference form.
Reminder: the annual application window opens January 1. All materials must be submitted by April 30 to be considered.
