IEI Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Illinois Engineering Initiative
Overview and eligibility
To qualify for the IEI Scholarship, applicants must be enrolled at an accredited Illinois college or university, have reached at least junior class standing, and be enrolled in an ABET-accredited engineering degree program. Students in engineering technology programs are not eligible. Candidates must maintain at least a B average in courses that count toward their ABET-accredited engineering degree and must demonstrate financial need.
Required application materials
In addition to completing the attached application form and the required needs-analysis, each applicant must submit the following:
- Official transcripts from every college or university attended (these must be sent separately, under separate cover).
- Two letters of recommendation:
- One from the department chair or a member of the engineering department faculty.
- One from a former employer or another individual who can attest to the applicant’s character.
- A typewritten personal statement of no more than 200 words outlining your career objectives as a professional engineer.
All items above must be provided to complete the scholarship application.
