The Arizona Leveraging Educational Assistance Partnership (AzLEAP) is a collaborative initiative between the state and educational institutions, aimed at providing financial aid to low-income undergraduate students residing in Arizona. This assistance is provided in the form of need-based grants, designed to help students with significant financial need to pursue their education at postsecondary institutions within the state. Each participating institution is responsible for awarding the grant. The maximum AzLEAP grant for an academic year is $2,500, although the average grant amount typically stands at $1,000 per academic year.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be U.S. Citizens or eligible non-citizens
- Applicants must be residents of Arizona
- Applicants must be enrolled at least half-time as undergraduate students in an Arizona postsecondary institution that is either regionally or nationally accredited
- Applicants must demonstrate substantial financial need, qualifying for the Federal Pell Grant, as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- Applicants must maintain satisfactory academic progress as determined by their respective institution
