Deadline and how to apply
- Applicants must submit their Maryland 4‑H Foundation scholarship application online. The application must be time-stamped by 11:59 PM on June 15, 2026.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be a currently enrolled Maryland 4‑H member or a Maryland 4‑H alumnus/alumna in good standing, with at least two (2) years of active membership in Maryland 4‑H.
- Applicants must intend to be enrolled in an accredited college, university, or post‑secondary technical training program for both the fall and spring terms of the 2026–2027 academic year.
- An applicant may receive only one (1) Foundation scholarship per year and may receive awards for up to two (2) years total; after two years of awards the individual is no longer eligible to apply.
- Students who will complete their post‑secondary program in December 2026 are not eligible to apply.
Required materials and application rules
- The entire scholarship application must be completed online and submitted (time‑stamped) no later than 11:59 PM on June 15, 2026. Applications must be typed and signed by the applicant.
- In addition to the completed application form, you must upload/provide the following:
- An unofficial transcript from your most recent academic institution.
- An essay describing a passion you discovered, developed, or shared through your 4‑H experiences. Include concrete examples of your 4‑H activities and explain how those experiences have prepared you to be “Beyond Ready.” Describe how this passion has shaped your academic interests and career goals.
- The Leadership, 4‑H Involvement, and Citizenship charts included in the application.
- One letter of recommendation from an individual familiar with your 4‑H involvement (for example: a 4‑H club leader, a 4‑H educator, or a significant 4‑H volunteer).
- Any additional, scholarship‑specific materials or qualifications noted for particular awards (see the Available Scholarships section for details).
Important notes
- Applications that are missing required documents or otherwise do not meet the stated requirements will be considered incomplete and will not be reviewed.
- A copy of the application that mirrors the online form is available as a guide to help you collect the necessary information and attachments before completing the online submission.
