History of the Award
The scholarship was established by the family of Sue Dilts following her death in 1997 to honor her legacy as an art teacher. Sue taught at Ithaca High School and was known for encouraging students across skill levels, exposing them to calligraphy, pottery, fiber art, painting, photography, and other media. Her enthusiasm and supportive teaching helped many students pursue careers in the arts. The scholarship continues her commitment to inspiring appreciation and study of art in all forms.
