The pulp and paper industry seeks energetic, technically trained engineers to address complex business and technical challenges and to develop sustainable, eco-conscious products, processes, and packaging. The University of Maine Pulp and Paper Foundation awards full and partial tuition scholarships to qualified chemical, civil, computer, electrical, and mechanical engineering students who intend to pursue careers in this sector. Each year the foundation funds more than 160 scholarships through annual gifts from over 60 companies and contributions from more than 300 alumni and friends. These scholarships support workforce development and help connect students with industry opportunities.
