McKinney Family Fund Scholarship

Purpose:
The McKinney Family Fund was created to support educational advancement by awarding scholarships to graduating high school seniors and/or graduate students who are pursuing post-secondary education and striving to reach their full potential.
Eligibility:
- High school senior or high school graduate
- Ohio resident for at least 2 years
- Minimum 2.5 GPA (on a 4.0 scale)
- Enrolling or enrolled at an accredited, nonprofit college or university to pursue an associate, bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree
- Preference will be given to African American and Hispanic applicants, and to those who live in the Greater Cleveland area
How to apply:
Complete and submit the Cleveland Foundation Scholarships General Application.
Selection process:
A selection committee reviews completed applications and evaluates evidence of the applicant’s commitment to earning an academic credential. If candidates are otherwise equally qualified, demonstrated financial need will be used as the deciding factor.
Award details:
Annual award amounts vary based on the fund’s investment performance and the number of recipients chosen each year. College Now will notify selected recipients. Scholarship payments are sent directly to the recipient’s institution and must be applied toward tuition, fees, required books, supplies, and course-related equipment.
Requirements for recipients:
1. Maintain full-time enrollment status unless the scholarship was explicitly awarded for part-time study.
2. Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
Renewal:
The scholarship has typically been renewable for up to a total of four years, provided the student continues to satisfy the program requirements and funds remain available.
