Jim Boyce Memorial Scholarship

Introduction
This scholarship honors the memory of Jim Boyce and recognizes the contributions of former APA members and supporters who significantly advanced accessibility compliance. Its purpose is to encourage students to integrate accessibility into their professional development and to strengthen inclusive practices in the built environment.
Eligibility
- Open to students currently enrolled in an accredited U.S. college or university.
- Programs of study should be closely related to accessibility or universal design, such as architecture, landscape architecture, civil engineering, construction management, interior design, or similar fields.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
- Applicants must demonstrate a clear commitment to accessibility, shown in their design portfolio and described in their stated career objectives.
Application timeline and award
- Applications are accepted annually through March.
- For 2025, the JBMS Scholarship application deadline is March 1, 2025.
- Scholarship awards are announced in May and funds are disbursed through the recipient’s institution via its financial aid office.
