Scholarships based on merit are available to support deserving students who are pursuing their initial professional degree in fields such as architecture, design, engineering, planning, or a related discipline, within a program located in New York State.
Who Can Apply?
This scholarship is intended for students who are working towards their first professional degree in architecture or a related design discipline at an accredited institution within New York State. The dean or chair of the architecture or design program can invite up to two students from their institution to apply. The selection should be based on the students' exceptional academic performance and demonstrated financial need. The Financial Aid Officer of the nominating school will determine the financial need of the student according to their guidelines.
Important: Students cannot be nominated for both the Center for Architecture Design and Allwork awards. Students in their final year of study are not eligible to apply. Only students nominated by the dean or chair of their current accredited program can apply for this award.

Note: If a graduate student's undergraduate degree is in a field other than architecture, they are still eligible.
What You Need to Apply
A complete application consists of the application form, a portfolio, and two letters of recommendation. All parts of the application must be submitted electronically (PDF) to [email protected].
Application Form
The Cover Page Form should be the first item in your submission.
Portfolio
Your portfolio should contain three examples of your work. Submissions of collaborative projects where your role is not clearly defined are not recommended. Slides should not be submitted.
Two Letters of Recommendation
- Each letter of recommendation must be signed and on official letterhead.
- One letter must come from the nominating dean or chair. This letter will act as the official nomination from the Dean. Remember, students cannot be nominated for both the Center for Architecture Design and Allwork scholarships.
- The second letter must be from a faculty member who is familiar with your work.
