Ball State Alumni Association Legacy Scholarships
Scholarship Sponsored by Ball State University
Overview
Each year a number of distinguished high school seniors who live in Indiana are chosen for the Alumni Association Legacy Scholarship. This renewable award is reserved for students who are the child or grandchild of a Ball State University alumnus/alumna and who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement.
Award amount and renewal requirements
The scholarship provides $500 per semester for every semester the recipient is enrolled full-time. The award may be renewed each semester as long as the student remains a full-time undergraduate and maintains a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0.
Priority and selection criteria
Because many eligible applicants meet the basic criteria, preference is given to students who demonstrate financial need as reported on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Recipients are selected based on information supplied on the Admissions Application and the FAFSA; no separate scholarship application is required.
Administration and funding
The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships administers these awards. Funding for the program comes from the Ball State Indiana license plate initiative.
Recent participation and notification timeline
For the 2024–2025 academic year, 244 students accepted the Alumni Association Legacy Scholarship. Awardees are notified beginning in the spring.
