GeneTex Scholarship Program
Scholarship Sponsored by Genetex, Inc.
Introduction
GeneTex is committed to helping accelerate scientific progress by supporting the next generation of researchers. To that end, the GeneTex Scholarship awards a $2,000 (USD) grant to a student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in a STEM field. One recipient is selected twice each year.
Who is eligible
- Enrolled and in good academic standing at an accredited college or university.
- Must have a declared STEM major (undergraduate) or be enrolled in a STEM graduate program.
- Students at accredited institutions worldwide, including those outside the United States, may apply.
What counts as a STEM major
Following the National Science Foundation’s classification, eligible fields include life sciences, physical sciences, social sciences, computer science, and mathematics.
How funds are distributed
Scholarship payments are made directly to the recipient’s university; the institution will then disburse the funds to the student.
Reapplication
Previous GeneTex Scholarship recipients are welcome to submit a new application.
Application materials required
- Most recent transcript (an unofficial transcript is acceptable) to demonstrate current good academic standing.
- If you are entering college as a new or transfer student, provide an acceptance letter or equivalent documentation that confirms enrollment.
- If your essay does not fit the online form, it may be sent as an email attachment or uploaded as a separate document.
Use of scholarship money
There are no restrictions imposed by GeneTex on how the scholarship funds are spent.
Selection process and criteria
A review panel of three to five GeneTex employees evaluates eligible submissions. The recipient is chosen based on which application best reflects GeneTex’s mission and values.
Notification timeline
The selected student will be contacted within 1–2 weeks after the application deadline. The winner’s name will be posted on the GeneTex website shortly after notification.
