Society of Manufacturing Engineers Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Society of Manufacturing Engineers
Introduction
The SME Education Foundation administers more than 60 scholarships and distributes nearly $1 million annually. A single application automatically puts you in consideration for every scholarship for which you qualify. Individual awards vary from $2,500 to $20,000.
Program details
The Foundation offers both merit-based and need-based aid, including one-time grants and awards that can renew. Applications are welcomed from all eligible candidates, including — but not limited to — young women and students from underrepresented communities. The application period opens each year on November 1 and closes on February 1. The application process is designed to be simple and user-friendly.
Eligibility requirements
To be considered, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a graduating high school senior or a current college student (associate or bachelor’s level).
- Hold at least a 2.0 GPA.
- Be pursuing an associate, bachelor’s, or graduate degree in a technical discipline that directly supports manufacturing.
- Be enrolled at an accredited college or university in the United States or Canada.
- Be a U.S. or Canadian citizen or permanent resident, or hold a valid student visa.
- Be enrolled either full-time or part-time.
If you meet these conditions, submitting the Foundation’s application is the single step needed to be considered for all scholarships for which you qualify.
