Women's Cyber Security Scholarships

Encouraging women to venture into the rapidly expanding Information Security sector through scholarships

APPLICANTS FOR ISC2 WOMEN’S SCHOLARSHIP:

To be considered for either the Undergraduate or Graduate Scholarships, you must submit a separate application. Applications will NOT be automatically transferred. However, you can directly import your application information and documents into the Undergraduate or Graduate application. 

SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS

• A maximum of ten scholarships will be granted. Each scholarship will range from $1,000 to $5,000.
• If you are selected, the funds will be sent directly to your school with instructions to apply them towards tuition, fees, and books. The award funds will NOT be given to the recipients directly.
• The scholarships are not renewable. You must reapply each year to be considered for another award.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Applicants must be planning to pursue a degree in cybersecurity, information assurance, or a related field in the fall of 2024.
• Applicants must be pursuing an associate's, undergraduate, graduate, or postgraduate degree in 2024.
• Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or a similar ranking on a comparable scale).
• Applicants can be citizens of any country (US citizenship is not a requirement).
• Applicants can be attending school either on campus or online.
• Applicants can be attending school either full time or part time.
• Applicants can be attending school either in the US or internationally.
• Applicants do not need to be currently enrolled, but no awards will be disbursed until the recipient is enrolled in a college or university.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

1. Unofficial transcripts from your current or most recent educational institution. If selected, no funds will be disbursed until official transcripts have been received.
2. A Letter of Recommendation that addresses the following:
   1. Your relationship with the applicant and the duration of this relationship.
   2. The applicant's skills or abilities that will aid in completing a degree.
   3. Any additional information about the applicant that should be considered.
   4. NOTE: Academic references are preferred, but a professional letter of reference addressing the points above may be submitted.
3. Resume/CV – Maximum of 3 pages. Do not include links to publications.
4. Essay questions to be answered in the application::
   1. Why should you be selected for this women's cybersecurity scholarship and what sets you apart from your peers?
   2. Why do you need this scholarship?
   3. Describe your personal and educational backgrounds.
   4. Who or what inspired you to pursue a career in cybersecurity? What makes you a successful candidate in information security and what are your professional career goals?
   5. Once you graduate and establish a career in our industry, how can you “pay it forward” by supporting other women (currently in school, recent graduates, mid-career transition) new to our field?
   6. Describe any contributions you have made to the cybersecurity field, such as volunteer work, articles, etc., and any other hobbies or extracurricular activities and what they mean to you. (Do not include links to articles)

EVALUATION CRITERIA

Applications will be evaluated by members of ISC2 and scholarship sponsors (if applicable). The evaluation will be based on three categories:

1. Passion
2. Merit
3. Financial Need
