National Italian American Foundation Scholarships
Scholarship Sponsored by National Italian American Foundation
Introduction
Through the support of the Italian American community, the National Italian American Foundation (NIAF) has provided more than $10,000,000 in scholarship awards since it was established. Each year NIAF oversees nearly 200 scholarship opportunities for Italian American students, with award amounts ranging from $2,500 up to $12,000, supporting a broad spectrum of fields of study.
Eligibility
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
- Hold an active NIAF membership. Memberships remain valid for one year from the registration date and are non-refundable. A student may use a parent’s, guardian’s, or grandparent’s membership to satisfy this requirement.
- Be enrolled full time at a U.S.-accredited institution of higher education for the Fall 2025 semester/term.
- Have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent). Note: some individual scholarships permit lower GPA thresholds; students attending institutions using pass/fail grading systems are still eligible.
- Be a United States citizen or a permanent resident alien.
- Demonstrate Italian American heritage: the applicant must have at least one ancestor who immigrated from Italy.
