Service Corporation Mortuary Science Scholarship

The Service Corporation International Scholarship Program, in line with its mission to foster excellence in the funeral service industry, annually provides financial aid to 25 exceptional mortuary science students. The program disburses over $96,000 in scholarships each year.
The program is a testament to the Company’s dedication to:
- Identifying students with remarkable leadership potential who are committed to a career in the funeral industry
- Offering financial assistance to the upcoming generations of funeral service professionals
- Generating career prospects for skilled mortuary science students
Eligible candidates must fulfill the following requirements:
- Be registered in a college or university program accredited by the American Board of Funeral Service Education (ABFSE)
- Be enrolled at the time of the scholarship deadline
- Maintain a GPA of 2.0 or above
- Not be a previous recipient of the SCI Mortuary Science scholarship
If selected as a finalist, the applicant must also be enrolled at the time of the scholarship event in March 2025.
HOW TO APPLY
The application procedure involves submitting an essay, resume, and video. Although you can save an incomplete application, it is advised to have your resume, essay, and video link prepared before starting your application. (An official transcript must be sent to [email protected] at the end of the Fall semester as the final part of the application.)

Compose a 250-300 word personal statement answering:
Question: Apart from funeral service, what else are you passionate about and why?
*Only the first 300 words of essay submissions will be evaluated. Essays that exceed 300 words will not be fully considered.
