Ray A Jackson Undergraduate Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by American Water Works Association Virginia Section
Purpose
This scholarship exists to support students preparing for careers in the water industry. Recipients are selected on the basis of merit.
Award
A single scholarship of $3,500 will be presented to one undergraduate student enrolled at a college or university in Virginia.
Eligibility
- Must be a full-time undergraduate and a member of the American Water Works Association (AWWA).
- Must be attending a Virginia institution during the Fall 2025 semester.
- Should demonstrate an intention to pursue a career in the water industry.
Application requirements
Applicants must submit all of the following:
- A resume that highlights academic achievements, work or research experience, and extracurricular involvement. Special consideration will be given to candidates who have participated in VA AWWA committee activities.
- An up-to-date transcript (official or unofficial) or the current semester schedule from the school you are attending.
- A completed "VA AWWA Student Scholarship" application form.
- Proof of membership in the American Water Works Association.
- An essay of no more than 500 words on a water-related topic of your choice. Essays focused on drinking water topics will receive additional consideration.
Selection
Awards are granted based on merit, taking into account the application materials, academic record, involvement, and the essay.
