AGCVA Valley District Zachary Fletchall Memorial Construction Scholarships

Introduction These scholarships are offered by the AGCVA Valley District in honor of Zachary Fletchall of Harman Construction, who was serving as the Valley District president when he passed away. They are intended for students and for individuals pursuing a career change who live in one of the Valley District counties. The full application describes the preferred candidate profile and all qualifications.
Award funding The AGCVA Valley District funds the Zachary Fletchall Memorial Construction Scholarships. At minimum, two awards of $1,500 each will be granted.
Eligibility To be considered, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be a United States citizen.
- Be a full-time high school student, or a full- or part-time student if enrolled in a post–high school program.
- Preference is given to applicants who reside in one of the Valley District counties: Augusta, Clarke, Frederick, Highland, Page, Rockingham, Shenandoah, or Warren.
- Be applying to or currently enrolled in an accredited institution, which may include technical/training centers, community colleges, or four-year colleges/universities.
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
- Previous applicants and prior scholarship recipients are welcome to apply again.
- All applications and supporting materials must be postmarked or emailed by February 27, 2026.
How to apply — required documents Submit the following materials so they are postmarked or received electronically by February 27, 2026:
- Completed application form.
- Official high school transcript, sealed and signed by the school counselor.
- Transcripts from any post–high school institutions attended.
- One reference letter from a member of the applicant’s academic community; the letter should be provided to the applicant in a sealed envelope.
Selection process Applications will be evaluated by the AGCVA Valley District Executive Committee. Selection will be based on academic achievement, extracurricular and leadership activities, community involvement, and demonstrated plans to pursue a career in the construction industry. The Executive Committee reserves the right to withhold awards if no applicants meet eligibility and quality standards.
