Scholarship Overview
Description: The AGCVA Valley District provides these scholarships in memory of Zachary Fletchall of Harman Construction, who was serving as Valley District President when he passed away. Eligibility area: High school students, post-secondary students, and people pursuing a career change who live in the Valley District are encouraged to apply. Award value: The district awards a minimum of two scholarships of $1,500 each annually.

Eligibility
Applicants must be U.S. citizens and either full-time high school students or full- or part-time students at a post-high-school institution. Applicants must be applying to or enrolled in an accredited technical or training center, community college, college, or university, and must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. Preference is given to applicants who reside in Augusta, Clarke, Frederick, Highland, Page, Rockingham, Shenandoah, or Warren County. Previous applicants, including past recipients, may apply again.

Application Process
Application materials: Applicants must submit a completed application, official academic transcripts, and a reference letter. High school transcripts must be sealed and signed by a counselor; applicants must also submit post-secondary transcripts, if applicable. The application and all supporting documents must be postmarked or emailed by the February 2027 deadline.

Selection
Members of the AGCVA Valley District Executive Committee review applications and determine recipients. Selection is based on academic performance, extracurricular and leadership activities, community involvement, and future plans in the construction industry. The committee may withhold an award if there are no eligible, qualified applicants.
