The California Farm Bureau Scholarship Foundation was organized to give aid to students with a desire to pursue a career in the agricultural industry. Scholarships are awarded annually based upon academic achievement, career goals, extracurricular activities, determination, leadership skills and a commitment to study agriculture.

All scholarships will use one application form.

Available Scholarships:

Rustici Livestock and Rangeland Scholarship: This scholarship is renewable with a completed application each year. To be eligible for the Rustici Livestock and Rangeland Scholarship, students must be attending or entering a two-year or four-year college or university and express a commitment to pursue careers in the production of domestic livestock (except horses), rangeland management or large-amimal veterinary medicine. Students must maintain an average of 15 units per semester or an equivalent number of units per quarter and maintain at least a C average.

The Curt & Joan Moran Scholarship: This scholarship is renewable with a completed application each year. One scholarship will be awarded to a student pursuing a bachelor's degree in a four-year college, or two-year community college program*, and one scholarship to a student from Lassen County attending a trade school or technical school to learn an agriculturally related trade such as welding or diesel mechanics*. Applicants must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher and plan to work in agriculture.

The Agricultural Lenders Society of California: Two of these scholarships are awarded each year in the amount of $2,500 each. This scholarship is not renewable. This scholarship will be awarded to students pursuing a career in agriculture with a special emphasis towards ag lending.

California Farm Bureau Scholarships: These scholarships are not renewable. These scholarships are for undergraduate students entering or attending a four-year accredited college or university in California and pursuing a career in the agricultural field. The applicant must have a high school or college GPA of 3.00 or above. Applicants must be a resident of California.

Frederick J. Heringer Honorary Award: A scholarship named for the late CAFB President. A recipient must come from a farm family or shall have had substantial on-the-farm experience.

Carolyn S. Richardson Memorial Scholarship: A scholarship that is named for the late CAFB environmental advocate. This scholarship will be limited to outstanding applicants intending to pursue studies in agricultural resource issues or as an agricultural lawyer.

Howard P. Wackman II Perpetual Memorial Award: A scholarship named for the late CAFB Vice President. This scholarship is limited to applicants intending to pursue studies leading to vocations in production agriculture with an intention of continuing the family farm.

John H. Wiechman Memorial Scholarship: A scholarship named in memory of the late CAFB Leadership Development manager. This scholarship is for high school seniors, or those in the first three years of college, who plan to enroll, or are enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in the broad field of agriculture.
