Iowa Farm Bureau Scholarship

Scholarship Sponsored by Iowa Farm Bureau

Value: $10,000
Awards Available: 32

The Iowa Farm Bureau Federation (IFBF) and many of its 100 county Farm Bureaus offer a variety of scholarships at the state (IFBF) and local level to future college students. To apply for these scholarships, you only need to submit one application which will enter you for a chance to receive the state and local Farm Bureau scholarships available to you.

IFBF State Scholarships  Up to $10,000 Per Recipient

IFBF will award 27 graduating high school seniors from Iowa (three from each of IFBF’s nine districts) a $2,500 scholarship, renewable for four years (up to $10,000 per recipient); college and graduate students are not eligible to apply. To learn more about IFBF eligibility requirements and guidelines, look online.

Each of IFBF’s 100 county Farm Bureaus will select one application from their county to be considered for IFBF’s state scholarships.

To qualify for the IFBF scholarship renewal, the recipient must continue to meet the scholarship requirements annually.

Local County Farm Bureau Scholarships

Many of Iowa’s 100 county Farm Bureaus have a local scholarship program. However, eligibility, availability and scholarship amounts vary. For more information, contact your local County Farm Bureau office.

Memorial Scholarships

The following scholarships have been established by Iowa Farm Bureau member families in honor of a lost loved one. Applicants will be selected from IFBF’s state scholarship applicant pool based on eligibility.

  • Daniel Johnson Memorial Scholarship is a one-time $500 scholarship that is awarded annually to one student from IFBF District 7 (Davis, Des Moines, Henry, Jefferson, Keokuk, Lee, Louisa, Muscatine, Wapello, Washington and Van Buren counties) who is pursuing a degree in agriculture.
  • Edward W. & Isabelle M. Klodt Memorial Scholarship is a one-time $500 scholarship that is awarded annually to one student from Wapello County.
  • Robert H. Rewoldt Memorial Scholarship is a $3,000, renewable scholarship for two years (up to $6,000 per recipient) that is awarded annually to two students from IFBF District 1 (Allamakee, Black Hawk, Bremer, Buchanan, Chickasaw, Clayton, Delaware, Dubuque, Fayette, Howard and Winneshiek counties) who are pursuing a two-or four-year degree in agriculture from an Iowa-based institution.

Eligibility

Farm Bureau scholarships are reserved for current IFBF members (and their children) who are in good standing with the organization. To be considered, a student must have a minimum 2.5 grade point average (GPA), be involved in extra-curricular activities, demonstrate leadership abilities, community involvement and volunteer efforts, and be accepted into an accredited higher education institution (including community colleges and technical schools).
