Louisiana FB Scholarships
Scholarship Sponsored by Louisiana Farm Bureau Foundation
Introduction
We are committed to supporting the continuation of agriculture by encouraging the next generation of farm and ranch families. To that end, we established a tax-exempt foundation that provides scholarships to qualified students pursuing agriculture-related studies. The first two scholarships were awarded in 1993. Since then, we have granted 196 scholarships — totaling nearly $500,000 — to assist graduating high school seniors as they begin college.
2026 Scholarship Overview
In May 2026, up to five scholarships will be awarded based on applications submitted through parish Farm Bureaus. Recipients will be chosen considering academic performance, ACT scores, demonstrated leadership in school and community activities, involvement in selected parish and state Farm Bureau programs, and financial need. Each 2026 recipient may receive up to $3,000 for the 2026–27 academic year. Winners who continue to meet the academic and curriculum requirements may reapply annually to extend the scholarship for up to four consecutive years total. If a recipient completes a degree early, any remaining scholarship payments end unless the recipient immediately enrolls in postgraduate agricultural study. Annual award amounts may change.
Who Should Apply
Graduating high school seniors of 2026 who intend to major in agriculture, agricultural education, agribusiness, agriscience, or another agriculturally related field and who meet the requirements below are encouraged to submit the 2026 application. An applicant may apply through only one parish Farm Bureau. Each parish Farm Bureau may submit one application for consideration as a state nominee.
For application procedures or questions, please contact your parish Farm Bureau.
