Kalamazoo County FB Scholarships

Overview
A selection committee appointed by the Kalamazoo County Farm Bureau Board of Directors will choose the scholarship recipient. Scholarship funds are released only after the student completes their first semester of post‑secondary study and posts a semester grade point average of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
Application requirements
- A letter of recommendation from the applicant’s high school principal or senior counselor, plus an official high school transcript.
- A resume (maximum two pages) describing work and/or volunteer experience and participation in community, school, FFA, sports, fine arts, 4‑H, church or similar activities; include any honors or awards.
- A written statement of one to two pages addressing family background, career plans and goals, the reasons the applicant wants to pursue those goals, why the scholarship is being requested, and any special circumstances the committee should consider.
Eligibility
- Applicant must be either a member of the Kalamazoo County Farm Bureau, the child of a member, or under the guardianship of a member.
- Applicant must be a high school senior or a high school graduate who has been accepted to or is attending a post‑secondary institution.
- Applicant must be pursuing an agricultural degree or enrolled in a two‑year agricultural program.
- Demonstrated financial need is not required.
- The scholarship is typically awarded one time, but previous applicants may submit a new application.
- Applicants must satisfy all requirements listed in the application.
Note: Awards are conditional upon successful completion of the first semester with the required GPA before funds are disbursed.
