Thank you for your interest in the Fort Bend County Fair Association (FBCFA) Scholarship. FBCFA will award $5,000 scholarships to high school seniors who graduate in the spring of 2025. Recipients are selected based on involvement with the Fair, school activities, community service, and academic performance. Eligibility - Must be a high school senior graduating in the spring semester of 2025. Students enrolled in accredited Fort Bend County public, private, or home-school programs are eligible. - Must intend to enroll at an accredited Texas college or university, a Technical School, or a United States Military Academy. - Must be a U.S. citizen and either a Fort Bend County resident or have a home address zoned to a Fort Bend County school. - Must have participated in one or more qualifying FBCFA activities: Fort Bend County Fair Livestock, School Art Auction, Rodeo, FCCLA, Ag Mechanics, Horticulture Competition, Queen program, or served as a Fort Bend County Fair Volunteer. - Must not have been disqualified from any FBCFA competition during grades 9–12. Selection Criteria - Fair involvement, school and extracurricular activities, community involvement, and academic achievement will be considered when selecting recipients. Key Dates and Deadlines - Application documents: - Certified Mail: must be postmarked by January 16, 2025. - Hand-delivery to Fair Office: must be received by January 16, 2025 at 4:00 PM. - Recipient notification: March 2025. - Scholarship Awards Reception: April 2025. Required Application Materials 1) 2025 Scholarship Application form - Print application pages one-sided only and leave them unstapled. - Write N/A for items that do not apply. - The application may be checked for verification of FBCFA participation. - Signatures required: applicant, parent/guardian, and the leader responsible for the fair qualifying event the applicant participated in (examples: FFA advisor, FCCLA advisor, 4‑H leader, Queen Chairman, school art teacher, Horticulture Competition Chairman). - Incomplete applications, including those missing required signatures, will be disqualified. 2) Official High School Transcript - Accepted methods for official transcripts: - Emailed directly from the school to [email protected] - Mailed directly from the school in a sealed envelope stamped “Official” to the Fair Office - Included with the application in a sealed school envelope (school’s return address printed on the envelope) sealed and secured with an official stamp or label - Transcripts must be received by the January 16, 2025 deadline; failure to submit an official transcript by the deadline will result in disqualification. It is the applicant’s responsibility to confirm the Fair Office has received the transcript. Submission Instructions - All required documents must arrive at the Fair Office in a sealed 9x12 envelope either by certified mail (postmarked by the deadline) or hand-delivered (received by the deadline).
