Overview This scholarship is available to Indiana 4-H members who plan to enroll at Purdue University as incoming freshmen or as transfer students for the fall term. Eligible applicants must be pursuing a major in the College of Agriculture or one of the specified majors in the College of Health and Human Sciences (see Major List below). Selection will be based on the applicant’s 4-H record, academic ability, and financial need as determined by Purdue’s Division of Financial Aid (DFA). Who is eligible - Indiana residents who are either - high school seniors, or - current post‑secondary students who will transfer to Purdue in the fall semester. - Have been an active 4‑H club member in good standing for at least four years. - Plan to enroll in a major in the College of Agriculture OR one of these College of Health and Human Sciences majors: Apparel Design and Technology; Dietetics; Developmental and Family Science; Early Childhood Education and Exceptional Needs; Family and Consumer Sciences Education; Environmental Health Science; Financial Counseling and Planning; Foods and Nutrition; Hospitality and Tourism Management; Human Services; Nutrition Science; Retail Management; or Selling and Sales Management. Important deadlines and FAFSA requirements - Scholarship application deadline: January 25, 2026. Completed application materials (see Application Instructions) must be submitted to your County Extension Educator by this date. - FAFSA/Federal aid: Your FAFSA must be on file in order to be considered. The FAFSA information must be received by Purdue; include Purdue West Lafayette school code 001825 on the FAFSA. - FAFSA filing timeline: Applicants must have the FAFSA on file by March 1st. Purdue’s Division of Financial Aid recommends completing the FAFSA by February 02, 2026. - To complete a FAFSA you and your parent(s) (as appropriate) will each need to create an FSA ID (username and password). For guidance, resources, and to create an FSA ID, visit the Federal Student Aid website. What the award is based on Awards are determined using: 1) academic performance, 2) financial need (as calculated by Purdue’s DFA), and 3) accomplishment in 4‑H activities. Selection and award terms - Applications are reviewed by a 4‑H scholarship selection committee, which ranks applicants based on scholastic achievement and 4‑H accomplishments. The committee’s ranking is provided to Purdue’s Division of Financial Aid, which sets award amounts according to demonstrated financial need and the committee ranking. - Award notices and dollar amounts will be communicated to recipients through DFA’s award statement. No additional correspondence will be sent about the application by DFA or the State 4‑H Office. - Scholarships must be used no later than the first fall semester following announcement of the awards; if not used by that time, the funds will be offered to alternates. - Scholarships are renewable for up to eight (8) semesters, provided the recipient continues to meet renewal requirements. Application instructions — required materials Applicants must: 1. Complete and include the 4‑H-620-W “My Record of 4‑H Achievement.” Do not submit extra supporting materials. The 4‑H-620-W form (Word and PDF) is available at: https://extension.purdue.edu/4-H/projects/index.html 2. Apply for admission to Purdue University in the qualifying major as soon as possible. 3. Meet all eligibility requirements listed above. 4. Submit the completed scholarship application and the 4‑H-620-W record to your County Extension Educator no later than January 25, 2026. Submit electronically in PDF format via 4HOnline or deliver a PDF file on an electronic storage device (USB flash drive) to the County Extension Office. All required items for the application should be combined into a single electronic file. Free PDF converters are available online and the local Purdue Extension Office can assist with PDF conversion if needed. Additional notes and restrictions - Filing the FAFSA is required for consideration; be sure to include Purdue West Lafayette school code 001825 so Purdue’s Financial Aid office receives your FAFSA data. The FAFSA must be completed for each aid year. - Applicants admitted to the College of Agriculture or the eligible College of Health and Human Sciences majors who demonstrate financial need will receive full consideration. - Students who receive certain state stipends (for example, Hoosier Scholarship, 21st Century Scholar, or other State Scholarship Commission of Indiana stipends) are not eligible to receive a 4‑H Club Scholarship.
