Norristown Garden Club Scholarship

Norristown Garden Club has been offering scholarships to students who plan to further their education in horticulture-related fields since 1971.
Residents of Berks, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, or Philadelphia counties in Pennsylvania enrolled in full-time, horticulture-related programs are encouraged to apply. Non-residents will be considered if attending a full-time, horticulture-related program at an academic institution in the above Pennsylvania counties.
All Scholarships are awarded annually to college students who plan to further their education in:
- Agriculture Education
- Agronomy
- Botany
- Conservation
- Environmental Concerns
- Floriculture
- Horticulture
- Land Management
- Landscape Architecture
- Plant Pathology
- And/or Related Fields

Scholarships are awarded annually to college students who plan to further their education in:
- Agricultural Education Agronomy, Botany, Environmental Concerns, Conservation, Floriculture, Horticulture, Land Management, Landscape Architecture, Plant Pathology Other Related Fields
- Residents of Berks, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, or Philadelphia counties In Pennsylvania enrolled in full-time, horticulture-related programs are encouraged to apply. Non-residents will be considered if attending a full-time, horticulture-related program at an academic institution in the above-mentioned Pennsylvania counties.
- Several scholarships, not less than $2,000, are available in amounts to be determined by the Norristown Garden Club.
- As long as high academic standards are maintained and need is apparent, a student is eligible to reapply for a scholarship the following year.
- Scholarships will be distributed by the treasurer of the NGC to the financial aid office of the student’s chosen school to be applied to the students’ tuition.
- The judging panel uses the following formula to judge scholarship applications:
- Academics 40%
- Applicant’s Personal Letter and Letters of Recommendation 25%
- Financial Need 20%
- Extracurriculars, Honors and Achievements 10%
- Recommendation of Norristown Garden Club Member 5%
