Scholarship Application — Instructions and Details
Please read all requirements carefully. To qualify, every section of the application must be filled out and the application must include a signature.
Who may apply (Eligibility)
- Applicant must be the primary holder of a Sound account. The account must be open and active no later than Monday, January 31, 2024.
- Applicant must be either a graduating high school senior or a student continuing their education.
- Applicant must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.00 through their senior year of high school.
- Applicant must be a student in good standing.
- The completed application must be submitted online by the deadline below.
- Ineligible: Sound Credit Union Board Members, Audit Committee Members, employees of Sound Credit Union, and their immediate family members.
Required materials (submit via the online application)
- A copy of your current high school or college transcript.
- One recommendation letter from a non-relative (for example, a teacher, mentor, or coach).
- A description of your involvement in school, community, and/or work activities.
- The occupation and employer information for your parent/guardian, or for the applicant if applicable.
- The number of children/dependents living at home, or currently enrolled in a college/university (if any).
Essay prompts (respond to all three in your own words)
1. What are your academic and/or career goals, and why have you chosen them?
2. Describe the challenges that have limited your ability to reach your full potential, and explain how you have worked to overcome them.
3. In what ways would receiving this scholarship impact you?
Submission deadline
- All completed applications must be uploaded online by Friday, March 1, 2024, by 11:59 p.m. to be considered.
