Defending Yourself Scholarship

We are excited to announce the Defending Yourself Scholarship, which gives students the opportunity to express a time when they needed to defend themselves and explain what prepared them to do so. The Defending Yourself Scholarship will award $2,000 to a student who best shares their story about a time they defended themselves.
Eligibility and Selection Criteria
The Defending Yourself Scholarship is open to any student currently enrolled in an accredited community college, undergraduate or graduate program in the United States. This includes incoming first-year college students who have graduated high school or are in possession of a GED.
Application Requirements
Students interested in this scholarship should provide the following:
A) A resume with contact information and relevant education, professional and/or volunteer experience.
B) An unofficial academic transcript
C) A 750-1000 word essay answering the following: Describe a time when you needed to defend yourself, either vocally or through taking action. What prepared you for this moment when you had to defend yourself and what was the outcome?
