Description: Medical malpractice is a significant public health concern and is cited as one of the leading causes of preventable death in the United States. Allen Tittle’s Medical Malpractice Awareness Scholarship was established to support students affected by medical malpractice and to raise awareness of medical negligence, medication and prescription errors, and related issues. Eligibility

Eligibility: The scholarship is open to current high school seniors, college students, and graduate students who are legal residents of the United States and reside in one of the 50 states or the District of Columbia. Eligible applicants must be enrolled in a two- to five-year post-secondary institution for the Fall 2027 semester. Employees of Tittle & Perlmuter, their immediate family members (parent, child, sibling, and spouse), and persons living in the same household as such employees are not eligible to apply. Candidates must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 and be in good academic standing.

Application Requirements: Applicants must submit a 500- to 600-word essay responding to the prompt: Why do you think it’s important to be a patient advocate in today’s healthcare industry? If applicable, describe a time when you or someone you know received poor medical care and what that experience taught you. In addition to the essay, candidates must provide a professional résumé listing academic and professional experience and a transcript from their current school. First-year college students, graduate students, or recent transfers may submit an unofficial transcript from their current school and the most recent official transcript from a prior school; high school applicants must include proof of acceptance to a college or university.
