Eligibility

Eligibility: The scholarship is open to U.S. legal residents in the 50 states and the District of Columbia who are high school seniors, current college students, or graduate students enrolled in a two- to five-year postsecondary institution for the Fall 2027 semester. Employees of Tittle & Perlmuter, their immediate family members, and household members are not eligible to apply. Applicants must be in good academic standing with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Applicants should ensure they meet residency and enrollment requirements before applying.

Application Requirements

Application Requirements: Applicants must submit a 500–600 word essay answering the prompt about the importance of patient advocacy and, if relevant, describing a personal or observed experience of poor medical care and its lessons. A professional résumé outlining academic and professional experience is required. Applicants must also provide a current transcript; first-year college students, recent transfers, and graduate students may submit unofficial current transcripts together with the most recent official transcript from a prior school. High school applicants must include proof of acceptance to their college or university.

Award Value

Award Value: The scholarship awards a $1,000 cash prize to one recipient each cycle to assist with tuition and related educational expenses. It is a recurring scholarship intended to be offered annually. The award is paid to the recipient to support their academic progress and raise awareness of medical malpractice issues. Details about disbursement and any conditions will be confirmed with the selected recipient.
