Adam Smith Fellowship — Overview
This is a one-year fellowship intended for doctoral students from any university and any academic field who have an interest in political economy.
Eligibility
To be considered for the Adam Smith Fellowship program you must be enrolled in a PhD program at any university, in any discipline.
Application timeline
- Applications for the 2025–2026 academic year must be submitted by March 15, 2025.
- Review of submitted applications will commence after the deadline.
- Award decisions will start to be communicated twelve or more weeks after the application deadline.
Award
The fellowship provides up to $10,000 in total support, which may include:
- a stipend,
- the cost of all required readings, and
- travel and lodging expenses to participate in colloquia hosted by the Mercatus Center.
