Overview
This scholarship honors the memory of Sue Dilts, an energetic and supportive art teacher at Ithaca High School. Known for fostering creativity and confidence, Sue introduced students to a wide range of artistic media and encouraged many to develop their talents into careers. Skilled in calligraphy, pottery, fiber arts, painting and photography, she also explored additional art forms. Her sister, Cheri Booth, remembers Sue for transforming the high school’s Art Department into a welcoming place for students of all ability levels. Sue’s family established this award shortly after her passing in 1997 to continue her work of promoting the appreciation and study of the arts.

Eligibility and Requirements
- Applicant must attend, or be a graduating senior of, a school located in Gratiot County.
- Applicant must plan to participate in arts education beyond regular classroom instruction (examples include band camp, dance workshops, specialized art classes, etc.).

The scholarship is intended to support Gratiot County students pursuing additional arts training and experiences that build on classroom learning, perpetuating Sue Dilts’ commitment to creative education.
