Introduction
The Carolinas Food Industry Council (CFIC), through its charitable arm the Retail Consumer Alliance (RCA), is offering the Everett & Trudy Suddreth Scholarship of Excellence. Each scholarship is $2,500 and is awarded annually to a total of 40 students. Employees of CFIC member companies and their children are invited to apply.
Eligibility
- Parent or spouse employment: Any student whose parent or spouse works full time for a CFIC member company and has been employed continuously for at least one year as of March 28, 2025, is eligible to apply.
- Student-employee: Any student who has been employed by a CFIC member company for a minimum of six months as of March 28, 2025, may apply.
- Location of employment: The qualifying food industry employee (parent, spouse, or student) must be employed by a CFIC member company located in North Carolina or South Carolina at the time scholarship winners are chosen. Scholarship recipients may attend a college or university in any state.
- Reserved awards: For 2025, four scholarships are set aside for students who are currently enrolled at a majority-minority high school or who will be attending a Historically Black College or University (HBCU) in the fall. If this describes you, be sure to note it in the "College Information" and/or "High School Information" sections of the application.
