Eligibility
Only legal residents of the United States (50 states and D.C.) who are enrolled in a vocational program or a two- to four-year post-secondary institution are eligible. Eligible applicants include current high school seniors, vocational students, college students, and graduate students. Employees of Dolan Divorce Lawyers, PLLC, their immediate families, and household members are ineligible. Applicants must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and be in good academic standing.

Award Details
The scholarship award is $1,000 and is intended to support students who demonstrate effective, mindful communication. Applicants should submit a 750–1,000 word essay describing a time they mediated between people, the communication tools used, and lessons learned. The essay should provide concrete examples that show why mindful communication is vital to healthy relationships. Selection emphasizes clarity of reflection and demonstrated maturity in communication.

Application Requirements
Applicants must submit a written essay in response to the stated prompt, a professional résumé, and a transcript from their current school. First-year college students, recent transfers, and graduate students may submit an unofficial current transcript plus the most recent official transcript from a prior school; high school applicants may submit proof of college acceptance. All essays will be checked for AI-generated content; submissions found to contain AI writing will be denied.
