Value: $1,000.00
Awards Available: 1

At Abogados Centro Legal, we are a team of dedicated immigration and personal injury lawyers, committed to safeguarding the rights of minority groups, with a particular focus on the Hispanic and Latino communities. Recognizing the increasing trend of bilingualism in the United States, we wish to honor those who have surmounted the hurdles and difficulties associated with mastering a second language. It is with great pleasure that we announce our 2021 Bilingual Scholarship, designed to provide a $1,000 contribution towards the education of one English-Spanish bilingual student, aiding them in reaching their academic aspirations.

This scholarship is available to all English-Spanish bilingual students who are currently engaged in postsecondary education. We acknowledge the importance of family heritage in shaping our identities, and we invite students to share their family stories and the ways in which bilingualism has benefited them in the United States. We are aware of the challenges that come with learning a new language, and we are interested in hearing about any language barriers or other obstacles you encountered while acquiring your second language.

Eligibility for the Scholarship:

Eligibility for the 2021 Bilingual Scholarship requires students to be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program within the United States. High school seniors who will be commencing college before the application deadline of November 30, 2021, are also welcome to apply. Applicants for this scholarship must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

Scholarship Application Requirements:

A complete scholarship application should include:

A) A current academic transcript, either official or unofficial. High school seniors are also required to provide proof of acceptance to their chosen college or university.

B) An up-to-date resume detailing professional and academic experiences

C) A 750-1,000 word essay discussing your family history and the ways in which being bilingual has been advantageous to you in the United States. Please include any language barriers or other challenges you faced while learning a second language.
