In an effort to give back to students with a keen interest in law, our firm is proud to announce the Aspiring Attorney Scholarship. We relish the excitement of our profession and the chance to contribute to our community! We hope this $1,000 award will help alleviate the financial strain of higher education for a zealous future lawyer. We're interested in knowing your specific area of interest in law and why? Why do you believe you'd excel as a lawyer? If you've engaged in law-related extracurricular activities during your past education, we'd love to hear about it!
We recognize that the financial obstacles on the path to becoming a lawyer can be daunting, and we aim to help alleviate that burden with this scholarship for one committed student. Continue reading for application details, and remember to apply before the deadline on October 31, 2024!
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- The scholarship is available to any current high school senior, vocational student, college student or graduate student who is a legal U.S. resident living in one of the 50 states or the District of Columbia and who is enrolled in a vocational program or a two to four year post-secondary institution for the Spring semester of 2025.
- Employees of The Law Offices of Doroshow, Pasquale, Krawitz & Bhaya, their immediate family members (parents, children, siblings, and spouses), and individuals residing in the same household (regardless of relation), are not eligible to participate in the competition.
- Applicants for this scholarship should maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher and be in good overall academic standing.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
- Applicants must complete the form below with all required information
- Applicants must submit an essay of 750-1,000 words in response to the prompt: What area of law are you specifically interested in practicing in and why? Why do you think you would make a good lawyer?
- Please be aware that all essays will be scrutinized for AI writing. If AI writing is detected in the essay, the application will be disqualified.
- Applicants must submit a professional resume detailing their experience, both professional and academic.
- Applicants must provide a transcript from their current school. First-year college students, graduate students, or individuals who have recently transferred schools may submit an unofficial transcript from their current school, along with the most recent official transcript from their previous school. High school students must also provide proof of acceptance to their college or university.
- Preference will be given to students either from or attending secondary school in the state, but students from across the nation are welcome and encouraged to apply.
