Marcus & Mack, a law firm with a strong commitment to community service, has always prioritized giving back to society. The firm actively participates in various community organizations such as Big Brothers Big Sisters of Blair County, Junior Achievement of Western Pennsylvania, The Learning Lamp, and the Children’s Aid Society, among others. These partnerships allow the firm to extend a helping hand to local children in need. Additionally, Marcus & Mack annually contributes over $10,000 to local school scholarship programs. The 2023 Caring Community Scholarship, a $2,000 award, is available to one student who has made significant efforts to improve their community. Marcus & Mack is particularly interested in hearing about a specific issue you identified in your community, the steps you took to address it, and the positive changes that resulted from your actions. The firm believes that this scholarship will inspire students to actively participate in their communities, reinforcing the idea that no effort is too small when it comes to helping others.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for this scholarship, applicants must fulfill the following requirements:
- Be a U.S. citizen currently enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited community college, undergraduate, or graduate program within the United States.
- Have a minimum 3.0 GPA, reflecting academic excellence.
- Submit a 1,000-word essay detailing their efforts to improve their community.
Application Procedure
To apply for the 2023 Caring Community Scholarship, applicants must submit the following documents by September 30, 2023:
- A resume with current contact information.
- An up-to-date academic transcript, clearly indicating the cumulative GPA.
- A 1,000-word essay that describes a specific problem the student addressed in their community and the positive impact of their actions.
The scholarship will provide a $2,000 award to one deserving student to support their educational aspirations.
