Eligibility & Requirements

The scholarship is open to U.S.-based students enrolled in accredited U.S. colleges or universities at the undergraduate or graduate level. Preferred fields include computer science, cybersecurity, data analytics, IT management, network administration, software development, business administration, and marketing—but eligible majors are not strictly limited. Applicants must provide proof of education or acceptance and submit a concise biography describing their intended field and goals. Submissions that do not include the required materials will not be considered.

Eligibility: U.S.-based undergraduate or graduate students attending a U.S. college or university.

Required Materials:

• A short bio (up to 250 words) stating your intended field of study and education level.
• Proof of education or college acceptance and proof of enrollment at a U.S. institution.
• A 1,000-word essay (do not include your name within the essay file or filename).

Evaluation

Essays are evaluated on originality, creativity, quality of communication, and competency with IoT concepts. Reviewers will look for unique perspectives, imaginative ideas, clear and engaging writing, and demonstrated understanding of connected devices and connectivity. Submissions must be original work; plagiarism results in disqualification. While creative, entries should still reflect accurate or thoughtfully reasoned claims when factual details are used.

Scholarship Guidelines Regarding the Use of AI

AI tools may be used for research, outlining, or idea generation, but they must not serve as the primary author of the essay. Applicants who use AI must transparently disclose the specific tools used and identify the sections where AI assisted. It is the applicant’s responsibility to fact-check any AI-generated content for accuracy and currency. Submissions that appear primarily or completely authored by AI will be disqualified to preserve fairness and authenticity.

Transparency: Cite any AI tools used and indicate how they were used in your application.

Fact-checking: Verify any facts or statistics produced by AI; accuracy is your responsibility.

Originality and Creativity: Essays that are primarily written by AI will be disqualified.
