History of the Award
The scholarship was created through a bequest from Letitia Moore, a late artist and member of the York Art Association, to honor her commitment to art education. The YAA established the Letitia Moore Charitable Trust Scholarship in 2009 to fulfill Moore’s wish to support tuition for deserving art and art history students. Since its founding, the scholarship has been administered by the YAA to continue Moore’s legacy of fostering the next generation of artists and scholars.
