Overview The universe is vast and intricate, yet it is knowable. Supporting young people who are eager to deepen that understanding is vital. The Mindscape Big Picture Scholarship exists to help financially empower students pursuing higher education with the goal of better understanding how the world works. About Mindscape and Sean Carroll Sean Carroll, a physicist and philosopher who hosts the Mindscape podcast, champions the idea that exploring our world from many perspectives is among the most important human endeavors. The Mindscape Big Picture Scholarship grows from that mission. Who is eligible This scholarship is open to any student driven by a sincere curiosity about the universe—whether their studies are in physics, philosophy, biology, mathematics, literature, or any other discipline devoted to making sense of existence. The program is especially committed to supporting applicants from groups underrepresented in these fields and first-generation college students. Award amount and use of funds Each scholarship recipient will receive $10,000 to be applied toward undergraduate tuition. If fundraising yields enough resources, more than one recipient may be chosen. Any leftover funds will be carried forward to fund scholarships in future years. Matching donations To help grow the fund, Sean Carroll will personally match donations dollar-for-dollar up to a combined total of $10,000 in matched contributions. If you would like to support the education of an inquisitive young scholar, contributions to the Mindscape Big Picture Scholarship will be matched by Sean Carroll until the $10,000 matching limit is reached.
