Overview

The LAGRANT Foundation undergraduate scholarship provides financial support and a career-development experience in Washington, D.C. Recipients attend a multi-day program that includes a welcome dinner with a keynote speaker, three days of professional workshops, and a scholarship and donor recognition reception. The scholarship is awarded to current undergraduate students (freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and non‑graduating seniors) and gives priority to rising juniors and seniors. Award decisions are tied to participation in the April 25–28, 2027 program activities.

Eligibility

Applicants must be current undergraduate students enrolled full time at a four‑year, accredited U.S. institution and meet specific academic and program requirements. Citizenship or residency requirements apply, and candidates must be majoring in a field emphasizing advertising, marketing, or public relations. Applicants must have sufficient time remaining in their degree program and be available to attend the April 2027 program. Special instructions apply if GPA is below the stated minimum.

Eligibility: Candidates are evaluated against residency, enrollment, GPA, major, degree timeline, and availability requirements.

• U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or DACA recipient
• Full‑time student at a four‑year accredited U.S. institution (12+ units/semester)
• Minimum 3.0 GPA (see application checklist for exception instructions)
• Major with emphasis in advertising, marketing, or public relations
• At least one year remaining to complete the degree as of April 2027
• Availability to participate in the scholarship activities in April 2027 and commitment to one year of post‑award contact with TLF

Award Value

The scholarship award amount is fixed and intended to support students pursuing careers in advertising, marketing, and public relations. Award disbursement is contingent on fulfilling program attendance and other recipient obligations. The financial award and the professional development program are both integral parts of the scholarship package. Recipients must complete required activities to receive the scholarship funds.

Application Checklist

All application materials must be typed and submitted together as a single online submission. The application form includes several required essays and supporting documents; essay responses should be provided on separate pages. If you believe your GPA does not reflect your capabilities, an optional one‑page explanation may be submitted. Finalists will be required to provide official transcripts; incoming freshmen may submit an acceptance letter in place of transcripts.

Application Timeline & Submission Rules

Applications are accepted online only and must be submitted as a complete package by the stated deadline. Late submissions will not be accepted. Submissions received by the MLK Day deadline earn an additional 10 bonus points. Carefully follow the stated submission time limits and ensure all materials are included in a single submission.

Application Timeline: Submit online by 5:00 p.m. PST on the February due date (Presidents’ Day). Applications submitted by 11:59 p.m. PST on or before MLK Day receive 10 bonus points.

Program Participation Requirements

Selected recipients must attend the sponsored program in Washington, D.C., April 25–28, 2027 to receive the scholarship. Attendance includes participation in scheduled career development workshops, networking events, and recognition activities. Recipients are also expected to commit to one year of ongoing contact with The LAGRANT Foundation for professional guidance and academic support. Failure to attend the required activities will forfeit the scholarship award.

Participation: Attendance at all program activities in April 2027 and a one‑year post‑award engagement with TLF are mandatory conditions of the award.
