Latino Scholarship Program

Hispanic Metropolitan Chamber (Hispanic Chamber) has announced the recipients of this year’s Latino Scholarship Program. On May 23, 2025, the Chamber presented $114,000 in scholarships to 32 students at its annual Scholarship Award Luncheon held at AVENUE in Portland, Oregon. Oregon State Representative Ricki Ruiz delivered the event’s keynote speech, and student speaker Pamela Melchor Burgos offered the student keynote. Since the program began, the Hispanic Chamber has awarded more than $3.2 million in scholarship funds to over 1,237 Hispanic students across Oregon and SW Washington. Individual awards ranged from $2,000 to $6,000.
Eligibility and General Requirements
- Must be of Hispanic ancestry and a permanent resident of Oregon or Clark County, Washington.
- Must either be currently enrolled in a high school located in Oregon or Clark County, Washington, or have attended a high school in Oregon or Clark County, Washington and be presently enrolled in an accredited college.
- Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, documented by an official high school or college transcript.
- Applicants will be assessed based on academic achievement, extracurricular involvement, community service, written essays, and letters of recommendation.
- Must be enrolled in an accredited community college, four-year college or university, or an accredited graduate degree program by September 2026.
