About the Scholarship
OKWIT provides annual scholarships to support Oklahoma women pursuing higher education in STEM fields. The program targets both undergraduate and graduate students and focuses on reducing the financial barriers that can impede degree completion. Awards are intended to empower recipients to enter and advance in careers related to science, technology, education, and math. The organization has a history of targeted local support and ongoing scholarship offering.

History of the Award: To date, OKWIT has awarded over $70,000 to Oklahoma women.

Eligibility
Applicants must identify as female and meet an age requirement and academic status criteria. Candidates must be at least 18 years old on or before August 31 of the award year. Eligible applicants include high school students who have been accepted into an accredited undergraduate STEM program for the award year, as well as current undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in accredited STEM programs. The program accepts applicants pursuing degrees in science, technology, education, and math.
Eligibility: Female applicants aged 18 or older who are accepted into or currently enrolled in an accredited STEM program during the award year.

- Open to high school seniors accepted to college and current undergraduate or graduate students
- Programs must be accredited and STEM-focused
Application Requirements
The application requires basic contact and academic information plus documentation of acceptance or enrollment and a substantive essay. Applicants must provide full name, email address, permanent mailing address, phone number, current and future school names, and their planned STEM degree and major. Required supporting materials include proof of acceptance and/or current enrollment and a 1,000-word essay; applicants may also submit an optional resume, letters of recommendation, and other supporting documents. Complete and accurate documentation helps the committee evaluate candidates fairly.

Selection and Notification
Scholarship recipients are chosen by the OKWIT Scholarship Committee following application review. Selected applicants will be notified promptly after decisions are made.
