Wischer Scholarship

Overview Founded in 2007 by Mrs. Irene S. Wischer—an esteemed San Antonio business leader and philanthropist—the Irene S. Wischer Education Foundation Scholarship awards financial support to outstanding full-time undergraduate students enrolled at not-for-profit institutions. The program reflects Mrs. Wischer’s commitment to education and community service. Eligibility Requirements Applicants must meet the following criteria: - Be a citizen of the United States. - Have been a resident of Texas for at least 12 continuous months immediately before submitting the application. - Exhibit good personal character. - By Mrs. Wischer’s direction, applicants who are Christian and who participate in regular church attendance will receive preference. - Provide evidence of academic promise and ability (this considers more than just grades). - Demonstrate financial need. - Plan to enroll as a full-time undergraduate or full-time graduate student at a not-for-profit college or university for the fall semester of 2025. - Hold a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale.
