The Locklizard Scholarship Program is aimed at supporting innovative students with a keen interest in rights management, information security, and cryptography. This initiative offers a monetary scholarship to assist students in managing the high costs associated with higher education.

ESSAY THEME
Escalation of Digital Piracy
Discuss how the advent of the internet and modern technologies have simplified the illegal duplication and distribution of copyrighted materials such as ebooks, reports, manuals, etc. Explore why the publishing sector has found it challenging to safeguard intellectual property and provide real-life instances of content theft.
ENTRY PROCEDURE:
- Compose an essay based on the theme provided above
- The essay should be between 1200 and 1500 words
- Submit your essay via email to [email protected]
- Include your full name, mailing address, educational institution, and course
- The deadline for submission is midnight EST, 30th December 2024
SELECTION CRITERIA
- Entries will be evaluated based on creativity and insight, quality of writing and research, originality, and accuracy
- Two essays will be selected as winners, and the authors will each receive a $750 award
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
- All applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent legal residents of the United States.
- All applicants must be full-time students in good academic standing, enrolled in the 2023 academic year at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university or in an accredited graduate school program.
- The educational institution of each applicant must be accredited and listed on the official website of the U.S. Department of Education. Applicants attending military academies are not eligible for this scholarship.
- The award recipient will be notified directly via the email address provided in their entry. If the recipient does not respond to Locklizard within 2 weeks of notification, Locklizard reserves the right to select an alternate recipient or to not award the scholarship at its sole discretion.
- All information provided in the application email will be verified before the award is granted. Any false or misleading information will result in immediate disqualification without notice.
- Each applicant is allowed only one entry.
- Each of the two winners will receive a one-time $750 scholarship, transferred to a bank account in their name within 2 weeks of winning notification.
