Attorney Masah SamForay is committed to delivering high-quality family law representation to anyone in need, regardless of background, race, ethnicity, or sexual orientation.
Scholarship overview
To encourage the next generation of family law practitioners, The Foray Firm awards a $1,000 scholarship each semester to one African American law student who shows clear enthusiasm and commitment to pursuing family law.
Eligibility
Applicants for the Foray Firm Black Law Student Scholarship must meet all of the following:
- Identify as African American and be enrolled in a law degree program
- Demonstrate an interest in family law
- Be a student at an ABA-accredited law school
- Hold membership in the Black Law Student Association (BLSA)
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Be at least 18 years old
Application requirements
To be considered, applicants must submit a short video (maximum five minutes) that addresses one of the prompts below:
1. In what ways have your personal experiences equipped you with the skills needed to succeed as a family law attorney?
2. The Foray Firm advocates for trustworthy representation for people from all backgrounds. Which values will guide your future legal practice, and why are they important to you?
3. Domestic violence affects individuals across races, classes, and cultures. How would you approach these cases as an attorney, and how would you account for cross-cultural factors?
4. What challenges have you encountered on your path to becoming an attorney? How have you handled those obstacles, and what is your plan for overcoming future challenges?
