TEACH Early Childhood® Nebraska offers scholarships to support early care and education professionals in their pursuit of Early Childhood Education degrees at local colleges. These scholarships cover Associate's Degrees, Bachelor's Degrees, and the newly introduced CDA.
Scholarship Types & Eligibility Criteria
Apprenticeship Scholarship
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be employed as a classroom teacher for a minimum of 30 hours per week in a licensed child care center, preschool, Head Start, or approved public school pre-kindergarten program in Nebraska,
- Must have the backing and sponsorship of your employer,
- Must be capable of contributing financially to tuition, fees, and books,
- Must complete a minimum of nine hours of early childhood coursework annually at a Nebraska community college,
- Must commit to participate in the program for two years.
CDA or Associate Degree Scholarship
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must work a minimum of 30 hours per week in a licensed child care center, preschool, or family child care program; Head Start; or approved public school pre-kindergarten program in Nebraska,
- Must have the backing and sponsorship of your employer,
- Must be able to contribute financially to tuition, fees, and books,
- Must pursue early childhood coursework at one of our partner Nebraska institutions,
- For CDA, must commit to stay in the early childhood field for at least six months after completing your CDA coursework.
- For Associate Degree, must commit to working at your sponsored program, or to continue running your family child care program for at least one year after completing your coursework.
Bachelor Degree Gap or Bachelor Degree Scholarship
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must meet all Associate Degree scholarship requirements,
- Must have been employed by the sponsoring program for a year prior to applying for a scholarship, OR, as a family child care provider, must hold a non-expiring child care operating license in good standing,
- Must be pursuing a degree in the Inclusive Endorsement in Early Childhood,
- Must already have an Associate Degree in early childhood or equivalent,
- For Bachelor Degree Gap, must be able to earn sufficient credits at a community college to transfer to a bachelor degree institution at a junior standing (60 credits)
- For Bachelor Degree, must be able to transfer at least 60 credits in order to enter at junior standing,
- Must commit to working at your sponsored program, or to continue running your family child care program for at least 18 months after completing your coursework
