Emerine Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship background This award commemorates Janet and Erin Emerine, both devoted to learning and community. Janet spent her career teaching learners of every age. Erin devoted herself to strengthening her community through volunteer efforts. They believed education is a key to opportunity and would have wanted others to benefit from support like this scholarship. Eligibility Applicants must meet all of the following: - Be female. - Demonstrate a clear commitment to volunteerism. - Be enrolled at a regionally accredited four‑year college or university in Ohio, or at an institution that has reciprocity with Ohio. (Preference may be given to applicants who are permanent residents of Ohio.) In addition, applicants must satisfy one of these academic/experience conditions: - Returned to undergraduate or graduate study after an interruption of two years or more; or - Be at least 23 years old and attending college for the first time; or - Applying to graduate school for the first time with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher; or - Have completed their freshman year of college with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
